A Simple Equation for Happiness

Ever notice that you can’t not be happy while eating a donut? That if your BFF is in a bad mood and you give them a donut, they’ll smile? That just talking about donuts makes you feel good? It’s true that donuts equal happiness.

As a donut lover, and after years of research, I discovered something surprising—everyone has a unique donut gene. Just like customizing coffee drinks, pizzas and burgers, people yearn to make a donut their own. To express their own personality.

Donutology solves the boring donut problem. It’s a magical place to mix and match more than 40,000 combinations of icings, toppings and drizzles for the perfect mini donut … your perfect donut. I bumped up that level of happiness and sourced local ingredients to make Donutology donuts even happier, with Kansas-grown wheat, and found the best local products to serve with our donuts like The Roasterie coffee, Shatto milk and Polly’s Pop.

And we didn’t stop there. Innovation is part of our recipe, so we added donuts to ice cream sandwiches, shakes, floats and even invented the DôNado, an ice cream-filled, twisted donut cone. Classic and old-fashioned donuts more your style? Donutology has your favorites!

But we don’t just create and sell happiness—we spread happiness, too. As a native of Lansing, Kansas, supporting local charities and organizations whose missions involve kids and animals and making Kansas City a better place to live, work, play … and eat donuts … is important.

That’s my simple equation for happiness. Give someone a yummy donut that reflects them and boom!  Happiness happens, right before your eyes. And at Donutology, we’re lucky enough to elevate happiness, millions of times each year. Are you happy yet?
